About
Founded in 2022, the WIERMAN.studio We are an international architecture firm shaped by the cultural fusion between Brazil, Greece, and the Netherlands. Working across borders and disciplines, we combine architecture, research, and technology to create clear, contemporary, and context-sensitive designs.
Our method is based on a deep understanding of the place, transforming existing constraints and restrictions into intelligent solutions. With a portfolio encompassing public buildings, hospitality, housing, and interiors, we understand that architecture goes far beyond design: we must understand how the building will be maintained and how it will age. We view the passage of time as an indispensable ingredient of architecture and a fundamental pillar of sustainability.
We focus on efficiency and long-term adaptability. The use of BIM software permeates our entire workflow, strengthening coordination, cost control, and precise communication with clients and consultants.
With projects developed in Greece, the Netherlands, and Brazil, the studio has won awards in several international competitions and was selected for the 2022 Rotterdam Biennale. These achievements reinforce our commitment to creating conscious, efficient architecture prepared for the coming decades.
Gustavo Wierman
Architect and founder
Gustavo Wierman (São Paulo, Brazil, 1991) studied Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (FAU USP) and at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, frequently ranked among the top three architecture schools in the world. Wierman graduated with distinction, and his graduation project was awarded as one of the Best Graduation Projects in Brazil and Portugal by ArchDaily, the world's largest architecture website.
Since then, Gustavo has worked in renowned firms such as 23SUL (Brazil) and Cepezed (Netherlands), focusing primarily on the design of public buildings. At Cepezed, he was part of the team responsible for developing proposals for large-scale tenders, where he gained experience in developing essential solutions under tight deadlines, coordinating with large teams of collaborators and stakeholders, and honing his analytical skills to interpret client needs and translate them into clear architectural proposals.
In January 2022, Gustavo founded his own firm, WIERMAN.studio, and created lokaal 6, an international collective of architects. The collective operates through a virtual office, enabling collaboration between more than seven nationalities. In recent years, WIERMAN.studio has designed everything from public buildings to private homes in Greece, the Netherlands, and Brazil; was selected for the 2022 Rotterdam Biennale; and participated in architectural competitions, including the Brazilian Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2023, Iconicidades Santa Maria, and SENAC Salvador—the latter two receiving honorable mentions.
Ana Luiza Broetto
Architect
Ana Luiza Broetto Baptista graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo in 2024, having completed an academic exchange at the University of Chile in 2022. In 2025, she lived in Greece to work at WIERMAN.studio, expanding her knowledge of architecture in an international context.
During her undergraduate studies, Ana Luiza dedicated herself to the challenges of housing in São Paulo, developing a strong interest in urban design, ecological and efficient solutions, and the relationship between heritage and existence. She collaborated with the architect Fernanda Carnelossi and, later, with the firm COTA760 Arquitetura e Urbanismo, specializing in renovations, construction, urban design, and visual communication. There, she began working with Archicad and gained experience in graphic production and project planning.
His professional career continued at WIERMAN.studio, where he contributed to a wide variety of projects, focusing on creative and innovative solutions for architecture and urban design. Currently, he works with BIM methodology, developing increasingly efficient templates and workflows for design, detailing, Bill of Quantities production, and construction supervision.
Barbara Rennó
Architect
A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP) in 2023, she explored a wide range of disciplinary fields and laboratory practices during her studies.
She dedicated herself to research on the right to housing and the social production of space under the guidance of João Sette Whitaker, developing undergraduate research at the CoPolis research center. The work focused on systematizing the Ouvidor 63 Occupation and mapping its cultural relevance to downtown São Paulo—a study that served as fundamental technical support for the legal defense against the repossession of the building in 2019.
Between 2019 and 2024, she worked professionally in product design, with an emphasis on jewelry and goldsmithing, refining her eye for the scale of detail and manual craftsmanship. Simultaneously, she consolidated her practice on a building scale with the Vila Arandu project (2021–present): a complex of 20 affordable housing units, currently under construction.
She expanded her work to the ephemeral scale as a set designer (2024–2025), designing stages and events of national scope, with projects in São Paulo, Ceará, Bahia and the Federal District. Since 2025, she has been part of the architecture team at Wierman Studio.
